MIC TO MASTER TOUR 2010
The First Event of the Series at Deep Blue Sound in Plymouth
Deep Blue Sound College of Music Technology run sound and music related courses from BTEC to FdA level and have achieved national acclaim for the standard of their facilities and teaching staff.
Recently their week long guest lecture program facilitated by the JAMES (the education branch of the APRS and MPG) was expanded to incorporate the innovative Prism Sound 'Mic to Master' tour. The Prism tour allowed students studying at the facility access to high-level technical expertise linked to specific product lines and high-quality gear provided by the team at Prism. The two days were a great success and Quality and Training Manager Nick Trussler had the following to say:
"What a great opportunity for our students. They not only had the advantage of eminent UK producers talking about their work, but also top quality manufacturers explaining the detail of working at a high level with their product lines. One of my many favourite moments was sitting in a lecture listening to Simon Heyworth talking in person about mastering the 5.1 version of Tubular Bells whilst glorying in the sweet spot of five massive superb quality ATC monitors. To say the hair rose on the back of my neck was an understatement! Well done Prism Sound and Thanks!"
Guest Producer Tony Platt adds, "Following on the heels of what has become an annual event that JAMES has staged for the last 4 years with Deep Blue Sound, this first collaboration with Prism Sound was a great success. Once again Prism Sound have shown their foresight, innovation and imagination as a manufacturer by supporting this initiative to widen the scope of the industry/education relationship. Everyone came up with excellent presentations and the students were absolutely delighted by all accounts. Also thanks to our hosts at Deep Blue Sound without whom this could not have happened! It was truly a festival of sound - Prism Sound, Deep Blue Sound and Plymouth Sound!"

"I was at the listening session that you ran on Saturday afternoon. I just wanted to thank you for your feedback and advice and that you may well have facilitated in getting me some work…"
