Allan began his recording career in the early 1990’s at Coach House Studios (home of the famous “Bristol Sound”). Working initially as House Engineer and then as Studio Manager during the making of Massive Attack’s seminal album ‘Blue Lines’. Allan also worked with Geoff Barrow (Portishead), Neneh Cherry and The Black Earth. During the mid 1990’s Allan became a freelance music producer for independent artists as well as becoming a live sound engineer for theatre and musical performances. He spent 5 years working on theatre tours around the UK including electronic voice performances with VOCEM, musical and children’s theatre.

In 2001 after working on several Theatre-in-Education projects, Allan studied at UWE Bristol, to obtain a dual honours degree In Education and English. He then spent 7 years as an Education Coordinator for a leading disabilities charity, eventually becoming Lead Co-ordinator responsible for all Education programmes, College budgets, staff training and the Quality Assurance of all City & Guilds and Edexcel courses.

In 2009 Allan setup Muse4media Ltd, a video/media company, working with charities and producing corporate video and sound. The company now solely concentrates on music mastering/production and artist development and includes an in-house record label, ‘Kitchen Studio Records’.
