BSc/BSc (Hons) Audio Systems Engineering
This programme gives you the skills needed to work in the audio industry. As an Audio Technology student, you will use specialist facilities and industry standard equipment while learning to record, mix and master.

It is designed to give a firm grounding in audio with an emphasis on the technology and engineering that features in audio equipment and software. Drawing on the established engineering and audio expertise within the University, the programme covers the audio signal path from the recording process, through mixing and mastering, to distribution and transmission both from practical and theoretical standpoints.

As the focus of the programme is on audio, opportunities will be given to acquire appropriate audio production skills in the university’s specialist studio facilities using a range of industry standard equipment and software. The other principle areas covered in the programme are that of acoustics both in relation to audio production and to musical instruments, digital signal processing, audio software design and development, physical computing and audio interface design and electronic engineering.

BSc/BSc (Hons) Audio Technology
The BSc (Hons) Audio Technology looks at a wide range of audio and new technologies and provides the opportunity to design and develop audio applications and systems. The programme is designed to broaden HND knowledge of the audio industry and covers games sound, audio processing, video and the web.

GCU has an excellent reputation for teaching audio technology and continues to undertake exciting research in this area which feeds into the programme. The University’s specialist audio facilities have a range of industry standard equipment and software, providing a stimulating environment for study and experimentation.
