He has now relocated Superswiftsound to Brighton and immediately enjoyed a top twenty hit with Brighton based British Sea Power’s album Machineries Of Joy.
In recent years he has been gaining a reputation as an adventurous, creative mix engineer who always delivers, particularly for A Sides, with labels such as Heavenly Recordings, Modern Sky and publishers Bucks Music.
Some of Dan’s more recent clients include Enjoyable Listens, Mark Lanegan, Stealing Sheep, Katy J Pearson, Chai, The Jackdaw and Brit pop indie saviours The Jacques.

Producing music is about removing barriers and creating space for people, as well as space within the music. A producer recognises the best direction of flow and clears the way for it.
Dan Swift's production philosophy
MAYBE YOU CAN FIX IT IN THE MIX?
It’s not difficult to deliver a masterclass on mixing using a pro studio recording, but these days almost no recordings are made in top-end studios, and the music you will be working on needs a new set of tricks to elevate it into Radio Gold. We need to rinse a sound out of our audio!
Mixing: Where are we going!
Mixing with what we have: rinsing the sound.
Why does everything have to have distortion on it?
Setting up your mix: good table manners.
Leaving earth for another planet.
Subdividing and other tricks.
What can the ear/brain cope with?
Post production leak: maybe add or change something instead of losing the battle.
Plate spinning: glue the plates to the poles.
Zing! Use octaves.
Notch, Notch, Notch, the gift of cheap microphones.
Cheering up soggy drums.
Elasticate to emulate!
Don’t let the main buss seduce you.
