TERMS & CONDITIONS

THE APPLICATION PROCESS
Phase One:
Course leaders are invited to nominate a level 6 graduating UK/EU* student. They will soon be sent and asked to complete a short registration form. Applicants may be asked to ‘Pitch' for places and excess applications will be placed on a reserve list.
*Restricted due to strict student visa regulations

In order to reserve a place for one student on the GDF/JAMES Summer School, course leaders must reply by the
cut-off date of Friday 22 March 2024.

Late applications will not be accepted unless events are undersubscribed.

Students put forward by their course leader to attend will be representing their institution and it will be expected that they are personable, capable and above all enthusiastic.

Receipt of applications will be confirmed and held on file.
Phase Two:
After the cut-off date, the course leaders of successful applications will be notified and sent a 'Student Nomination Form' that must be FULLY completed and returned by the suggested date. Unsuccessful applications will be notified and placed on a reserve list

Failure to return the completed 'Student Nomination Form' by the cut off date
** may compromise the application and those places passed on to applicants on the reserve list.
** 'Student Nomination Form' Cut Off Date: Friday 31 May 2024

Phase Three:
Successful nominated students will be contacted directly and given details of the event they have been registered on. This will include all location, accommodation and arrival times.

Terms and Conditions:
* All course leaders will be invited to put forward a student to attend the GDF/JAMES Summer School.
* Universities with multiple JAMES accredited courses should be aware that only one place per institution will be automatically available, additional applications will be held in reserve.
* Selection criteria for each event will be based on a first-come, first-served policy.
* One place on the course may only be offered when events are undersubscribed after the application cut-off date.
* Excess applicants for events will be held on a reserve list.
* Institutions participating for the first time will have preference over previous years' participants when oversubscribed.
* There is no charge to the student or university for attending the Summer School, but the student will be expected to fund his/her travel costs to and from Rockfield Studios. Free transport will be arranged to and from the nearest railway stations.
* Missing application cut off dates may forfeit application.
* JAMES will require nominating course leaders and students to provide personal contact email and phone numbers as well as institution email addresses. (For emergency use only)
* Student 'No show' without good reason and as much warning as possible, will compromise the institution from applying for following years' events.
* The event organising body will have the final say on how places are allocated.
