“I studied the BSc Music Production course at the University of Hull from 2018-2021. I will finally have my graduation ceremony in July 2022.
I had an extremely enjoyable 3 years on the course and was very proud to receive the 'Outstanding Achievement Award sponsored by JAMES'. along with the 'Solid State Logic Music Production Prize'.
The music facilities, teaching and overall university experience has been fantastic. For my dissertation/major project piece, I created a short film on the Independent Lifeboat Station 'Humber Rescue'. The documentary is called 'Humber Rescue:Behind The Lifejacket' and is available to watch on Youtube. I have been a volunteer crew member at Humber Rescue for the last 4 years. I wanted to create exposure for the charity and it was fitting that this project allowed me to do this and tie it in with my University work.
I initially wasn't aware the course was JAMES accredited. However, now receiving the award, it has made me very proud that the countless hours of planning, creation and editing has all been worth it and recognised by both the University and JAMES.
I have both my university certificate and my JAMES award framed and will be very proud of my achievement to receive this.
I'll be investing my voucher into something media related and will continue to make documentaries in the future.”
